Fantasy Role Playing Builds--The Crusher
As a crusher you have one goal--the swift destruction of the enemy. Crushers are fine melee attackers. They focus on dealing great damage to quickly eliminate low-defense enemies or to bring down more heavily protected foes with only a few attacks. A fine obnoxious build well-designed to bring down elite opponents, the crusher is easy to play but fun to run, allowing the player to lead to battles in a direct way. Statistical supremacy is the goal of the crusher; they rarely have very industrialized special abilities, focusing predominantly on damage improvement. Devastating melee warriors, such as barbarians, are your typical fantasy crushers.

If you want to play a crusher, offense is your most prominent function. Your aim is to destroy the most fine enemy as quickly as possible. In many cases, you will be relying on other party members--tanks, guardians, protectors, healers, and the like--to keep you safe from attack. Since you are a melee warrior, though, and a risky one, you can expect to be targeted for attack. As such, you want some basic recipe of defending yourself from attack. Many of the best crusher warriors have a bit of the tank in them, so that they can endure the punishment of a melee.
Even with a respectable defense, you are unlikely to be able to stand against someone else offense-oriented opponent. As such, going first is of key importance to you. When two crushers fight, it is rarely a protracted cinematic battle; the fight is fierce and quick, and in some cases, may only last for a singular action. Large groups of weak foes are dangers to a crusher, and it is ideal to accumulate a recipe of dispatching such threats efficiently. Otherwise, though you can admittedly take down one or maybe even a few each turn, their numbers combined with your low defense make it possible for them to claim the win.
A crusher build backed by a strong defense is a combat nightmare, able to drop its foes reliably but hard to take down itself. Combining the crusher build with the buffer build allows escalating damage power, while a crusher/blaster is equipped to devastate foes singly or in groups, in melee or at range. Although it is a less common archetype, the compound of a crusher and ambusher build can be potent; use stealth to get the first strike, and damage power to forestall the second.
Tanks are annoyances to crushers, as their strong defense can hold the crusher's offenses off for long enough for fine enemies to claim the win. A crusher should also be wary when facing blasters, archers, and similar builds designed for ranged damage dealing. Although a well-made crusher can often deal more harm even than they, a reduced defense means that fine ranged attacks can drop the melee-based crusher before it gets close.
To use a crusher best, have it strike enemies that need to be defeated quickly. Don't waste time on tanks if you can help it. Instead, get right at the most risky opponents; neutralizers, blasters, enemy crushers, and so on. Healers and buffers are also key targets, since denying the enemy party their powers makes them that much easier to defeat. The goal of the crusher is swift victory, its tools immediate and extraordinary attack. Never let the enemy make the first move. Never let there be a second to make.
