I bought this through Rockler for about the same price as Woodcraft. I had never seen these before, but I guess they've been around for a few years. I have a small home workshop, no available workbench inside at all just an outdoor assembly table when I need to do some projects. Having this vise has made my hobby life much easier now. This is where a very strange part comes in. Especially for those who have a perfect and utter disdain for former martial arts or historical lessons whatsoever.

What I'm talking about is the old skill of dealing with man wearing...

Armor!

To cut to the chase, you have to understand that, in both instances - contemporary and historical - you cannot direct your intention, attacks, or power against a larger attacker (or man wearing his own body weight in armor) the same way that you commonly would if the odds were fair and even. Even positioning that would break the balance of man your own size, often times doesn't come close to working against a larger, heavier attacker, because he just has more to work with.

So, again...

What do you do?

And the retort is that you direct your attention away from his core - away from his center. You focus on his shoulders and hips - at the points of his torso. This allows you to use leverage against his spine, hips, and core - without running into the vigor of his arms and larger muscle groups.

Then, the more you take his balance, the more his targets will open up, and the more you will be able to take him with some of your other techniques.

1/3 cup salt
2 cups brown sugar
3 cups white sugar
3 cups apple cider vinegar

20-25 cucumbers
8 cups ice

Scrub cucumbers and slice into thin slices. Put the cucumbers and onion rings into a large pan and pour the salt over the vegetables. Add the ice over the top and let soak for 3 hours. After the three hours, drain the water from the vegetables but do not rinse off the salt. Put the cucumbers and onions back into large pan. Mix the brown sugar, white sugar, vinegar, mustard seed, celery seed, and turmeric together. Pour the composition over the cucumbers and onions. Cook over medium-high heat until the cucumbers lose their provocative green color. Put composition into hot pint jars and seal with hot lids and rings. Be sure jars seal. You will hear a popping sound when jars seal and the town of the lid will indent slightly.

6 cups grated zucchini, peeled
No. 2 can crushed pineapple with juice
1 box Sure-Jell
6 cups sugar
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 box (6-oz) apricot gelatin
